Sonny Kahn was raised in a Jewish family in Israel and emigrated to Los Angeles in 1972, where he worked various jobs including taxi driver and mechanic before entering real estate development. In 1989, he co-founded Crescent Heights with Russell W. Galbut and Bruce Menin, initially focusing on converting apartments to condominiums. Over three decades, Kahn has built Crescent Heights into a nationally recognized developer with projects in South Florida, New York, Chicago, California, and other major U.S. markets. He is married to Suzanne Passi Kahn and is a billionaire. His real estate portfolio includes significant Miami Beach properties, including a waterfront estate at 5940 North Bay Road that sold for $105 million in 2025.
