Born and raised in Kenya as a dual US-Kenyan citizen, Shu Nyatta holds a BA in Economics from Harvard and an MSc in Anthropology from Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. His career includes roles at J.P. Morgan, McKinsey, and as a professional singer-songwriter before rising to managing partner at SoftBank Group International, where he co-led the $8 billion Latin America Funds and launched the $100 million Opportunity Fund for US founders-of-color. In 2022, he co-founded Bicycle Capital in Miami with Marcelo Claure, raising a $500 million inaugural fund targeting Series B and later-stage LatAm tech companies. He serves on boards including Lemonade, Kavak, and Endeavor Global, and is a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute. Nyatta relocated to Miami pre-2021 to tap into its emerging tech scene and diversity.
