Sabina Covo is a Colombian-American with over 22 years of residency in Miami's District 2, including neighborhoods like Brickell, Edgewater, Coconut Grove, and Downtown. She built her career as a broadcast journalist and host for major outlets such as Mega TV, America TV, Univision, and NBC/Telemundo, later serving as Director of Hispanic Media Relations at the Florida Department of Agriculture under Nikki Fried. In 2023, she was elected to a shortened term as Miami City Commissioner for District 2 following Ken Russell's resignation, focusing on public safety, affordable housing, arts, economic development, and tourism. She co-founded Sabina Covo Communications (SCC) with Hilda Juan, providing expertise in real estate, brands, business, economy, and political analysis. Covo ran her own PR firm since late 2014 and was endorsed by the Miami-Dade Democratic Party for her commissioner bid. She was briefly under investigation for alleged bribery in 2024 but was cleared by the Broward State Attorney's Office due to insufficient evidence.
