In Miami/South Florida, Penny Stamps and her husband supported key organizations including the University of Miami's Frost School of Music, Fairchild Tropical Garden, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida, Miami Lighthouse for the Blind, and Community Partnership for the Homeless. She played a pivotal role in building the Grayvik Animal Care Center at Ocean Reef Club and served on the Humane Society of Greater Miami board, advancing animal welfare. Their foundation's scholarships empowered hundreds of students at local universities like the University of Miami.

Penny W. Stamps, a University of Michigan alumna with a degree in design, built a distinguished career at Herman Miller and Kaplan & Fox before running her own residential design firm in Boston for 18 years. With her husband, she founded the Stamps Family Charitable Foundation in 1986 to support educational initiatives nationwide, including major gifts to the University of Michigan that renamed its art school in her honor. The couple relocated to Miami, where they became deeply involved in local philanthropy, supporting institutions like the University of Miami and Ransom Everglades School. Stamps served on the Humane Society of Greater Miami board since 2011 and helped develop the Grayvik Animal Care Center at Ocean Reef. She passed away in 2018 at age 74 after battling leukemia.
