Omier developed his game at Miami Prep, shining in South Florida high school basketball and drawing D-I attention through dominant performances. At the University of Miami, he led the Hurricanes in scoring and rebounding, contributing to their Final Four run and inspiring Nicaraguan communities in Miami as the first D-I player from his country. His success elevated local basketball talent pipelines from Miami Christian and Prep schools.

Born in Bluefields, Nicaragua, Norchad Omier moved to Miami Prep on a full scholarship, where he averaged 26.7 points and 20 rebounds per game under coach Jose Alvarez. He then starred at Arkansas State for two seasons, earning Sun Belt Freshman of the Year, Player of the Year, and Defensive Player of the Year honors with consistent double-doubles. Transferring to the University of Miami, he became a key forward for the Hurricanes, averaging 13.1 points and 10 rebounds as a junior while helping the team reach the Final Four, and 17 points and 10 rebounds as a senior with second-team All-ACC recognition. After Miami, he transferred to Baylor. Now a professional, he plays for the Los Angeles Clippers on a two-way NBA contract with their G League affiliate, the San Diego Clippers.
