Born in the American South to Gujarati parents, Niven Patel developed a passion for cooking as a child by preparing family meals. He trained at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and under Chef Dean Max at 3030 Ocean. Patel opened Ghee Indian Kitchen in 2017 in Downtown Dadeland, earning Eater Miami’s Restaurant of the Year and a Michelin Bib Gourmand. Partnering with Mohamed Alkassar, he founded Feal Hospitality, expanding to Erba, NiMo Coastal Mediterranean, Ghee Wynwood, and Paya in Miami Beach. He owns Rancho Patel, a two-acre farm in Homestead supplying 35% of his restaurants' produce. Today, he leads Feal Hospitality's innovative dining concepts across Miami.
