Nicholas Nehamas
Campaign Reporter
Conexión con Miami
Nehamas's investigations at the Miami Herald drove accountability, leading to criminal charges against a Miami Beach commissioner over campaign finance scandals and a prison sentence for a Hialeah officer involved in sexual exploitation. His coverage of major local events like the Parkland shooting, FIU bridge collapse, Mar-a-Lago security issues, and South American gold smuggling networks tied to Florida crime illuminated systemic issues in South Florida. These stories earned national awards and heightened public awareness of corruption, environmental harm, and political influence in the region.

Nehamas co-authored books including 'The Grifter’s Club: Trump, Mar-a-Lago, and the Selling of the Presidency' and 'Dirty Gold: The Rise and Fall of an International Smuggling Ring.' Ron DeSantis, based in Florida.
