As Vice Chair of the Miami-Dade County School Board, Monica Colucci shapes policy and vision for the fourth-largest school district in the U.S., advocating against liberal policies she views as detrimental to local education. She hosted the 'Evening with the Stars' awards in 2024, honoring over 200 District 8 students for academics, athletics, arts, and citizenship, while recognizing Silver Knight nominees. She chairs the active political committee Freedom In Education, supporting her educational initiatives in South Florida.

Monica Colucci has served as an elementary school teacher in Miami-Dade County Public Schools since 1994, teaching grades 1-6 and holding leadership roles such as grade level chair and gifted program overseer. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Florida International University. Her career highlights include being named Teacher of the Year in 2001, consulting for the University of Miami’s “Science for All” Program, and serving as Special Assistant to the Lieutenant Governor and South Florida Regional Representative in the Executive Office of Governor Ron DeSantis from 2019 to 2020. Deeply connected to Miami through her long tenure in local schools and community service, she was elected to the Miami-Dade County School Board in August 2022. Currently, she is Vice Chair for District 8, developing educational policy for Florida's largest school district.
