Dubbed the 'Godmother of Miami’s art scene,' Lehr co-founded Continuum Gallery in 1961, establishing one of the Southeast's first women's artist co-ops and fostering a vital space for female artists for over three decades. Her works have been prominently featured in Miami institutions during Art Basel Miami Beach, including exhibitions at the Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU, Center for Visual Communication in Wynwood, and Rosenbaum Contemporary. She has mentored young artists through master classes with the National YoungArts Foundation, guiding the next generation in South Florida.

Born in New York in 1934, Mira Lehr graduated from Vassar College in 1956 with a degree in art history, studying under Linda Nochlin and later painting with masters like Robert Motherwell, Joan Mitchell, and Lee Krasner. Upon returning to Miami in 1961, she co-founded Continuum, one of the first women's artist co-ops in the U.S., which operated for over 30 years and amplified female voices in art. Her career spans decades with over 300 solo and group exhibitions worldwide, including recent acquisitions by the Metropolitan Museum of Art and features at Art Basel Miami Beach. A committed environmentalist, she was selected by Buckminster Fuller for his 1969 World Game Project on sustainability. Now based in Miami, she created art in her waterfront studio, focusing on eco-themes addressing global warming.
