She advances Miami's progress as the incoming Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Board Chair, promoting growth, innovation, and business-community ties.

Madeline Pumariega began her career at Miami Dade College in 1992 as Dean of Student Services, rising through roles including Wolfson Campus President after attending MDC as a student-athlete on the women's basketball team. She later served as CEO of Take Stock in Children, the first female and Hispanic Chancellor of the Florida College System, and executive vice president of Tallahassee Community College before returning to MDC as its fifth president in 2020. Deeply connected to Miami, she is an alumna of local institutions including Hialeah High School and holds degrees from St. Thomas University and Florida Atlantic University. Currently, she leads MDC, one of the nation's largest colleges serving 120,000 students across eight campuses, and has been appointed Board Chair of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce for FY2025-26.
