Born in San Felipe, Venezuela, on April 9, 1997, Luis Arráez signed with the Minnesota Twins as an international free agent in 2013 and debuted in MLB in 2019. He earned two batting titles, three All-Star selections, and two Silver Slugger Awards early in his career. Traded to the Miami Marlins in January 2023, he became their full-time second baseman, slashing .343/.384/.450 with 3.5 fWAR in 180 games and hitting for the cycle—the first in Marlins history. After a trade to the San Diego Padres in May 2024, he joined the San Francisco Giants, continuing as a versatile infielder. He represents Venezuela internationally, including playing in Miami during the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
