TheVentureCity has invested in South Florida ventures including Boatsetter and Outloud.ai, employing eight staff members in Miami. She has pioneered the development of one of the world's few investment platforms led by women, with a community-based approach working hands-on with entrepreneurs before seed capital stage.

Laura González-Estéfani is a Madrid native who became a tech entrepreneur at age 21, co-founding the international beach tourism site Esplaya.com in 1999. She was an early Facebook employee starting in 2008, where she led international growth across Europe and Latin America, and previously held leadership roles at eBay and Siemens. She relocated to Miami in 2015 to learn from the region and launched TheVentureCity in 2017 with co-founder Clara Bullrich, establishing offices in both Miami and Madrid. The venture firm has raised nearly $180 million and works with approximately 180 founders, 110 companies, and 70 partners. She has been recognized as a Top Woman Investor in Latin America by LAVCA for four consecutive years and was appointed to guide the European Innovation Council by the European Commission.
