Little's Larry Little Summer Boys Camp has provided opportunities for countless youngsters in Overtown and Greater Miami, fostering inspiration and development as praised by Coach Don Shula. In January 2023, Miami-Dade Commission honored him by naming Larry Little Street in Overtown. His legacy as a Dolphins icon and community servant elevates South Florida sports pride and youth mentorship.

Born in Groveland, Georgia, in 1945, Larry Little grew up in Miami's Overtown neighborhood and attended Booker T. Washington Senior High School before starring as a defensive tackle at Bethune-Cookman University. Undrafted in 1967, he signed with the San Diego Chargers, then was traded to the Miami Dolphins in 1969, where he became a five-time Pro Bowler, seven-time All-Pro, and key to the team's dominant 1970s rushing attack, including Super Bowls VII and VIII. Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1993, he later coached at Bethune-Cookman (1983-1991) and North Carolina Central University (1993-1998). Today, the South Miami-Dade resident continues philanthropic work, including his Larry Little Summer Boys Camp for Overtown youth, and supports players at Bethune-Cookman and throughout South Florida.
