Kendall Coffey graduated first in his class from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and began his career at Greenberg Traurig before co-founding Coffey Burlington in 1988 with Robert Burlington. From 1993 to 1996, he served as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, overseeing thousands of federal prosecutions. He rejoined his firm and handled high-profile cases including the Elian Gonzalez custody battle and the 2000 presidential election recount as part of Al Gore's legal team. Deeply connected to Miami through his long-standing practice and leadership in the Federal Judicial Nominating Commission for South Florida from 2009 to 2019, where he chaired the Southern District Conference. Currently, he is a founding member and partner at Coffey Burlington, PL, focusing on trial and appellate litigation in federal and state courts.
