Josh Beckett, born in Spring, Texas, was drafted second overall by the Florida Marlins in 1999 and debuted in MLB in 2001. He spent his first five seasons with the Marlins, posting a 41-34 record with a 3.46 ERA despite battling blisters. His career highlight came in the 2003 postseason, where he went 2-2 with a 2.11 ERA, including a Game 5 NLCS shutout and a Game 6 World Series shutout to clinch the title, earning MVP honors. Traded to the Boston Red Sox in 2006, he won another World Series in 2007 and made three All-Star appearances before retiring after the 2014 season with the Dodgers.
