He resided in custom homes at Country Club of Miami and later Inverrary Country Club in Lauderhill, broadcasting from the Miami Beach Auditorium for 23 years. Gleason promoted Miami Beach on air, ending each show with 'Miami Beach audiences are the greatest in the world.' He passed away in 1987 at his Inverrary home and is buried in Miami.
