Dr. Ford leads the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine as its dean and chief academic officer, significantly expanding the institution's research capacity and national prominence. He maintains an active pediatric surgery practice at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami and has established the Miller School as a center for excellence in medical education and research. His leadership has positioned Miami's medical community as a hub for innovative surgical training and research.

Henri R. Ford is a Haitian-American pediatric surgeon born in Port-au-Prince who immigrated to Brooklyn at age 13. He earned his undergraduate degree cum laude from Princeton University in 1980 and his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. Before joining the University of Miami in 2018, he served as Chief of Surgery at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and Vice Dean for Medical Education at USC Keck School of Medicine. As dean of the Miller School of Medicine, he has increased NIH research funding from $128 million in 2018 to more than $175 million in 2024 while developing the next generation of transformational medical leaders.
