Wilson has secured over $3.1 billion for her district, including funding for the PortMiami Tunnel creating thousands of jobs, $389 million for the Northeast Corridor Rapid Transit, and $100 million for Venetian Causeway bridges. She hosts massive job fairs connecting thousands to employers and founded the bipartisan Florida Ports Caucus, passing key infrastructure legislation. Her efforts also include crime reduction grants and honoring local heroes through federal recognitions.

Born in Miami in 1942, Frederica Wilson earned a B.S. from Fisk University and an M.S. from the University of Miami, later serving as principal of Skyway Elementary School and on the Miami-Dade County School Board from 1992 to 1998. She entered politics as a Florida State Representative for District 104 from 1998 to 2002, then as State Senator for District 33 from 2003 to 2010, rising to Minority Whip. Elected to the U.S. House in 2010 for Florida's 17th District (redistricted to 24th), she represents eastern Miami-Dade and southern Broward counties. Her deep Miami roots and career as an educator and community leader define her commitment to the region. Currently, she serves in her 8th term in Congress.
