Knowles has positioned the Miami-Dade Chamber as a vital force for economic equity in South Florida, launching the South Florida Black Prosperity Alliance with chambers in Broward and Palm Beach counties. He served on the Miami-Dade Covid-19 Economic Recovery Task Force, helping develop pandemic recovery strategies and maintaining chamber operations to support local businesses. His advocacy addresses the critical gap of less than 2% of public contracts going to Black businesses in Miami-Dade, working to ensure equitable development and prosperity for historically overlooked small businesses.

G. Eric Knowles is a senior executive with over four decades of professional experience in operations, event planning, community building, and government affairs. He served as Senior Director of Government Affairs for Sun Life Stadium and the Miami Dolphins, where he managed a 72,500-person facility and oversaw tenant relations and 3,500 game day employees. Since May 2019, Knowles has led the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce as President & CEO, transforming the organization by tripling its annual budget to $1 million and significantly expanding its staff and membership. He graduated from Miami Dade College and was honored as a 2025 Hall of Fame inductee. His career reflects a deep commitment to advancing Black, minority, and women-owned businesses throughout South Florida.
