Dev has played a central role in transforming Fort Lauderdale Beach from a once-blighted area into a luxury tourism destination, with signature projects including the Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Fort Lauderdale, the Waldorf Astoria Residences in Pompano Beach, and the Miami WorldCenter mixed-use development. He is actively involved in Miami's civic and cultural infrastructure, serving on the boards of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts Foundation, the Orange Bowl Host Committee, the Community Foundation of Broward, and the FIFA World Cup 2026 Miami Host Committee.

Dev Motwani is a second-generation real estate developer who grew up in the family hotel business after his parents immigrated from India and purchased the Merrimac Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale in 1986. After his father passed away when Dev was 14, his mother Ramola took over the business, which Dev later joined after attending Duke University and working on Wall Street. He currently serves as Managing Partner of Merrimac Ventures alongside his older brother Nitin, overseeing the company's portfolio of high-profile projects. Dev holds a BS in Economics and Public Policy from Duke University and an MS in Real Estate Development from Columbia University.
