Sundheim committed $5 million to UHealth (University of Miami Health System) to support the innovation and technology fund at the Desai Sethi Urology Institute, advancing specialized research and innovative treatment options. He expanded D1 Capital Partners' operations to Miami, establishing the firm as part of the city's growing fintech and venture capital ecosystem. Additionally, he made a significant record gift to Ransom Everglades School to support a new humanities building on the upper school campus.

Daniel Sundheim is a seasoned investment professional who began his career in the Merchant Banking Group at Bear Stearns before spending 15 years at Viking Global Investors, where he served as Chief Investment Officer. He founded D1 Capital Partners in 2018, which operates across public and private markets with a focus on global internet, technology, telecom, media, consumer, healthcare, financial, industrial, and real estate sectors. Sundheim graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1999 with a B.S. in Economics. He relocated to Miami permanently after initially moving to the city during the COVID-19 pandemic and has since become an active philanthropic investor in South Florida's growth and development.
