Conexión con Miami
Anthony Spinello played a pivotal role in elevating Miami from a cultural backwater to a global art hub, starting in blighted Wynwood when Midtown was a container yard without sidewalks. His gallery helped pioneer the neighborhood's transformation into an arts district and continues shaping Little River and the Design District as creative blocks. Through 20 years of exhibitions, he has nurtured local talent, invested in the community that supported him, and intertwined Spinello Projects' story with Miami's evolving art landscape, including major Art Basel presence.

Anthony Spinello graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York and moved to Miami in 2002, drawn by its post-9/11 calm compared to Manhattan's tension. He quickly entered the local scene by running a gallery in emerging Wynwood, then launched his own space in 2005 by converting his apartment into the Red Dot Project after his prior employer closed. Over two decades, Spinello Projects evolved through locations in Wynwood, Midtown, and Little River, featuring innovative shows with graffiti, conceptual art, and artists like Typoe, Lee Materazzi, and Blackbooks. Known for gonzo installations and a focus on underrepresented voices, including queer perspectives, Spinello has shown at Art Basel Miami Beach and built a program reflecting Miami's cultural growth. In 2025, he celebrated the gallery's 20th anniversary with 'Changes: Reflections on Time & Space,' drawing from his personal collection of Miami-tied artists like Farley Aguilar and Marlon Portales. His approach treats the gallery as a museum, prioritizing artist development over commercial sales amid market challenges.
