Born to Colombian parents in Queens, New York, Michelle Rodriguez pursued her education in Florida, securing a BS in Criminal Justice and MS in Higher Education Administration from Florida International University, plus a cum laude Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law. Her career trajectory includes roles as Staff Counsel at GEICO Insurance, Associate General Counsel at Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company, and In-House Litigation Attorney at People's Trust Insurance Company, sharpening her insurance litigation skills. A dedicated volunteer, she advanced Hispanic legal access as a Broward County Hispanic Bar Association board member, co-chairing the Legal Bilingual Conference and organizing drives for food, gifts, and school supplies for families in need. Through the Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade's Governance Committee, she championed gender equity initiatives strengthening South Florida communities. Now based in the Riverview area near Tampa, her work at Progressive Insurance continues to influence Florida's insurance and advocacy landscapes.
