Jeff Rogers launched his career in civil engineering firms across Tampa, Miami, and Key West from 2002 to 2010, gaining hands-on experience as project engineer and manager before pivoting to government service. Joining Hernando County in 2017 as Deputy County Administrator, he stepped up as Acting Administrator in 2019 amid a leadership transition and secured the permanent role that May, now steering all departmental functions and annual budgets from Brooksville headquarters. His University of Miami degrees in environmental and civil engineering, paired with U.S. Navy service earning two Achievement Medals, equip him to tackle Hernando's growth challenges while drawing on South Florida professional networks forged in Miami. The Board of County Commissioners renewed his contract in 2024 through 2029 at $249,185 annually, signaling strong support for his operational reforms and regional coordination.
