Hall of Fame Head Coach (Retired)
Shula took over the Miami Dolphins in 1970, turning them into a powerhouse with 257 regular-season wins, 17 playoff triumphs, and two Super Bowl titles, ranking his Dolphins tenure as the second-best coaching stint in NFL history. His 1972 squad delivered the only 17-0 perfect campaign, capped by Super Bowl VII glory, while reaching the big game six times overall across three decades. In South Florida, Shula's teams hit the playoffs 16 times in 26 seasons with just two sub-.500 records, securing 15 AFC East shares and etching his name into Miami sports lore. He broke George Halas's victory mark with win 325 in 1993 and entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1997.
