Yandel has boosted Miami's cultural profile by partnering with FIU's Wertheim School of Music for innovative Latin urban-symphonic fusions, including a major campus concert and Arsht Center recording that drew national attention. His initiatives provide performance opportunities for FIU students and alumni on multi-city tours and TV, promoting South Florida's arts education and positioning Miami as a hub for groundbreaking music collaborations.
About
Born Llandel Veguilla Malave Saqlazar in Puerto Rico, Yandel rose to fame in the 2000s as half of the iconic reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel, producing global hits like 'Rakata' and 'Pam Pam' via their WY Records label. He launched a successful solo career in 2013 with a Billboard Top Latin Albums No. 1 debut and international tours. Yandel has deep ties to Miami, performing at Florida International University to promote albums and collaborating with FIU's Symphony Orchestra and Conductor Javier José Mendoza. This partnership led to a blockbuster campus concert, live album recording at the Adrienne Arsht Center, a national TV appearance on The Tonight Show, and the Yandel Sinfónico USA Tour featuring FIU students in Florida dates. Currently, he continues touring and releasing music under Warner Music Latina.
