His platform emphasizes public safety, opposing tax increases, and reducing government regulations to benefit working families and uphold the free-market system.
About
Born in Guatemala, Roberto J. Gonzalez legally emigrated to the U.S. at age two and has been a Miami resident since 1990, becoming a U.S. citizen in 2014. He graduated from Miami Coral Park Senior High School, attended Miami Dade College, earned a Bachelor’s in English Literature and a Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University. Gonzalez founded PereGonza The Attorneys PLLC in 2016 and served as Secretary on the Republican Party of Miami-Dade’s Executive Committee from 2016 to 2020. Appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners, District 11 in November 2022, he was elected in August 2024 by a wide margin, qualifying via signatures as the first District 11 candidate in recent memory to do so. Currently, he chairs the Safety and Health Committee, vice-chairs the Housing Committee, and serves on the Airport and Appropriations Committees.
