His family's involvement, including son Adam Gibb and brother Barry, underscores ongoing local tributes to his influence.
About
Maurice Gibb, born in 1949 on the Isle of Man, rose to global fame as a member of the Bee Gees alongside brothers Barry and Robin, producing timeless hits like 'Stayin’ Alive' and 'How Can You Mend a Broken Heart.' He lived in Miami Beach, Florida, where the band recorded at nearby studios on 1801 Bay Road, and he passed away there in 2003 at age 53 from cardiac arrest following surgery. His deep connection to South Florida is commemorated by Maurice Gibb Memorial Park at 18th Street and Purdy Avenue in Miami Beach. The park, named in his honor, recently expanded with a music-themed playground and scenic lookouts, celebrated in April 2025 with brother Barry Gibb present. Maurice has no current role, as he is deceased.
