Currently, through FIU trusteeship and legal advocacy, he continues influencing education, transportation, and development in South Florida.

Marc D. Sarnoff is a partner in the Miami office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, specializing in land use, government relations, and real estate law with over 30 years of experience, including nearly 100 jury trials. He served nearly a decade as City Commissioner for District 2, representing areas like Downtown, Brickell, Coconut Grove, Omni, and the Upper Eastside, where he chaired the City Commission, Downtown Development Authority, Omni Community Redevelopment Agency, and Coconut Grove Business Improvement District. Appointed by Governor Rick Scott in 2015 to the Metropolitan Planning Organization and in 2016 to the Florida International University Board of Trustees, where he now serves as Vice Chair and recently joined the Presidential Search Committee. A Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator, Sarnoff maintains deep ties to Miami through his ongoing legal practice and public service roles.
