Dr. Lilian Abbo graduated from Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1999 and trained in internal medicine at Jacobi Medical Center and Mount Sinai Medical Center before completing her infectious disease fellowship at University of Miami/Jackson Health System. She has built a distinguished career in Miami, focusing on healthcare-associated infections, transplant patients, and immunocompromised states. Currently, she serves as Associate Chief Medical Officer for Infectious Diseases at Jackson Health System, Chief of Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Stewardship, and Professor of Clinical Infectious Diseases at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and Miami Transplant Institute. Her deep Miami roots began as an observer at Jackson Memorial Hospital upon immigrating from Venezuela in 2000, evolving into key leadership roles. She has co-authored over 120 peer-reviewed publications and served as past president of Women in Academic Medicine at the University of Miami.
