Born in Miami to Cuban exile parents, Kevin Marino Cabrera graduated with honors from Miami Dade College and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science cum laude from Florida International University. His career began with roles as a lobbyist for figures like Jeb Bush and Carlos Curbelo, followed by serving as Florida State Director for Donald Trump's 2020 re-election campaign and the Republican National Committee. In 2015, he was appointed to West Kendall’s Community Council and elected unopposed in 2016. Elected Miami-Dade County Commissioner for District 6 in 2022 with Trump's endorsement, he served until resigning in 2025 to become U.S. Ambassador to Panama, confirmed by the Senate on April 9, 2025. He is married to state Rep. Demi Busatta and was elected Republican State Committeeman for Miami-Dade in 2023.
