As chairman of the Southeast Overtown Park West Community Redevelopment Agency, Hardemon partnered with Chef Marcus Samuelsson to launch Red Rooster Overtown, transforming the area into a food and entertainment hub for South Florida. He secured over $50 million for the Town Park housing program, rehabilitating historic affordable units to benefit long-term residents in a neglected neighborhood. Currently, as Miami-Dade County Commissioner for District 3, he chairs the Tourist Development Council and serves as vice chairman of the Port and Resiliency Committee, boosting local economy and infrastructure.

Born and raised in Miami's Liberty City neighborhood in the James E. Scott Public Housing Development, Keon Hardemon graduated from Miami-Dade public schools including Miami Northwestern Senior High before earning a Bachelor's in Business Management and MBA from Florida A&M University. He attended University of Miami School of Law, served as an Assistant Public Defender representing hundreds of clients, and now runs his own firm, The Law Offices of Keon Hardemon, P.A., handling criminal defense and civil cases. Hardemon became Miami's youngest City Commissioner, serving as four-time chairman and leading the Southeast Overtown Park West Community Redevelopment Agency. His deep Miami roots and commitment to education, integrity, and service drive his public service career.
