Born in Boston in 1978, Jon Anik began his broadcasting career after studying political journalism at Gettysburg College, interning in sports media, and working as a stringer for local news before joining ESPN in 2006. There, he hosted MMA Live on ESPN2 and covered high-profile UFC events, leading to his hire by UFC in 2011 as play-by-play commentator. He became the lead voice for PPV events after Mike Goldberg's departure in 2017, also hosting pre/post-shows, weigh-ins, and the UFC Hall of Fame. Anik lives in Pompano Beach, Florida, just 50 minutes from Miami, and expressed personal excitement for UFC's return to Miami after 20 years at UFC 287 in 2023. He co-hosts The Anik & Florian Podcast and is praised by Joe Rogan as MMA's top play-by-play announcer.
