About
Originally from New York, John Lermayer moved to Miami in 2004 to work at Skybar at Shore Club and later masterminded the cocktail menu at The Florida Room at Delano, earning global recognition through competitions like the 42 Below Cocktail World Cup. He co-founded the iconic Sweet Liberty bar in Miami Beach, blending neighborhood charm with world-class cocktails that elevated the local scene. Lermayer was a dedicated mentor, father to Radek, and passionate New York Rangers fan, known for his animated personality and love of travel. Tragically, he passed away in June 2018 at age 45 from a ruptured brain aneurysm. The City of Miami Beach proclaimed June 21 as John Lermayer Day in his honor. His legacy endures through Sweet Liberty's annual celebrations and its ranking among North America's top bars.
