Born in 1965 in Homestead, Florida, Jeff Zucker moved to Miami as a child into an upper-middle-class family with a cardiologist father and teacher mother. At North Miami Senior High School, he was class president, tennis team captain, school paper editor, and a freelance reporter for The Miami Herald. He graduated from Harvard in 1986 with a degree in American History, then joined NBC Sports as a researcher. He became executive producer of the Today show at age 26, driving its success with innovations like outdoor concerts, later rising to CEO of NBCUniversal. After leading CNN Worldwide as president from 2013 to 2022, he now serves as CEO of RedBird IMI. His early Miami roots shaped his competitive drive and media passion.
