Gary Sheffield, born in Tampa, Florida, was a first-round draft pick by the Milwaukee Brewers in 1986 after starring at Hillsborough High School. He enjoyed a 22-year MLB career across eight teams, hitting 509 home runs with a .292 average, earning nine All-Star nods, five Silver Sluggers, and the 1992 NL batting title. With the Florida Marlins from 1993-1998, he was instrumental in their 1997 World Series win, batting .320 in the postseason. Post-retirement, he transitioned to a career as a sports agent.
