Miami Connection
Gary Nader has solidified Miami as the cultural capital of Latin American art through his galleries, the Nader Sculpture Park in the Design District, and extensive exhibitions that boost regional artists' visibility. His developments in Wynwood and bids for mixed-use projects like the one at Miami Dade College's 520 Biscayne Boulevard have enhanced downtown's art infrastructure. By selling high-value art to fund a new museum, he continues to elevate Miami's global art presence and foster community engagement with public sculpture spaces.
About
Lebanese-born and raised in the Dominican Republic, Gary Nader began his career as Director of Nader Gallery in Santo Domingo in 1981 before moving to Miami in 1985 to establish his own gallery focused on Latin American art. He expanded with Gary Nader Fine Art in Coral Gables in 1992, creating one of the world's largest galleries at 55,000 sq. ft. in Wynwood, featuring exhibitions, a private collection, and a sculpture park. Nader has curated hundreds of exhibitions and published works to promote Latin American artists on par with European and American art. Deeply connected to Miami since the 1980s, he continues to shape its art scene through ongoing projects. Currently, he is fundraising by selling $100 million in personal art to build the Nader Art Museum Latin America in downtown Miami, with the Gary Nader Art Centre under construction at 62 NE 27th Street.
