Chris Quinn was born in Dublin, Ohio, and played college basketball at the University of Notre Dame before a seven-year professional career that included stints with the Miami Heat, New Jersey Nets, San Antonio Spurs, Cleveland Cavaliers, and teams overseas in Russia and Spain. He first joined the Miami Heat as a player in 2006, establishing his initial connection to the franchise and South Florida. After retiring, Quinn began coaching with the Sioux Falls Skyforce in 2014 before being hired as an assistant coach by the Heat in 2015. He has served loyally under head coach Erik Spoelstra since then, including acting as interim head coach on multiple occasions. Quinn and his wife Lauren have three children and reside in the Miami area.
