Born in Brazil, Bernardo Hees earned a BA in Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and an MBA from Warwick Business School in the UK. He rose to prominence as CEO of América Latina Logística from 2005 to 2010, followed by a pivotal role as CEO of Burger King Worldwide Holdings from 2010 to 2013, based in Miami where he orchestrated a major turnaround. He then became CEO of H.J. Heinz in 2013 and co-led the Kraft Heinz merger as CEO from 2015 to June 2019. From 2020 to May 2024, he served as Executive Chairman of Avis Budget Group. Currently, as Operating Partner at Cranemere Group, he oversees portfolio companies, serves on boards including Bunge Limited and Aimbridge Hospitality, and focuses on consumer sector investments. He maintains a strong Miami presence, listed as manager of Rancho Lindo, LLC at 1000 Brickell Ave, Unit 300.
