Born September 2, 1995, in Tampere, Finland, Aleksander Barkov is a professional ice hockey center standing 6'3" and weighing 214 pounds. Selected second overall by the Florida Panthers in the 2013 NHL Draft at age 16, he quickly established himself as an elite two-way player. Named Panthers captain in 2018, Barkov has won multiple Frank J. Selke Trophies (2021, 2024, 2025) recognizing his exceptional defensive abilities and leadership. He represents Finland internationally and comes from a hockey family, with his father Aleksander Barkov Sr. having played professionally for Russia, Italy, and Finland.
